Ahan & Rich visiting Zambia, Botswana & South Africa - wildlife focused itinerary
Rich had been to Africa before but this was Ahan's first visit and Rich was happy to step back and let Ahan, Michelle and I work together very closely on designing their dream itinerary. They wanted their itinerary to be focused on Wildlife with just a little urban. Although we were all four very pleased with the results of the outline, little did we know their wildlife experience would exceed not only their expectations but ours too!
Email from Ahan upon their return:
(Ahan sent several emails with explicit details about her impressions - far too many to copy here. Instead I've copied a few key points and will allow her beautiful photographs with her captions to fill in the blanks).
Dear Ellen & Michelle,
We are back from our fabulous trip and it was a great success!
All of our safari lodges and experiences were really wonderful. Sussi and Chuma was fabulous. The hospitality at Sussi was absolutely top-notch. I loved that laundry was included, and all the alcohol.
I agree with your decision to want to place us in Chobe. The boat ride was worth the entire stay. Seeing a herd of 20 elephants running to the river to drink in the late afternoon sun. It was beautiful. We saw crocodiles, got close to hippos, it was awesome. And, Rich loved the fact that we got to eat Warthog, Impala and other wild game!
So let's see, after that we went to the Royal Livingstone. The grounds were absolutely stunning, and the location was fabulous.
Hamiltons was beautiful. Like you said, some of these places are pieces of art. We had our own butler, and he was so, so fantastic and the food there was oustanding. Then there was Kings Camp. Wow!! My previous emails speak for themselves (Ahan actually emailed us FROM the camp while she was there because she was so excited about all the things they had seen and how wonderful their expeirence at Kings was turning out).
Four Rosmead was wonderful. The service was stellar, and the place was lovely.
I feel so immensely privileged to have been there even for a brief period of time with them. You know, this wasn't a "vacation" for me personally, it was an "experience." I had a ton of fun, but more importantly I came back so much more knowledgable about the bush and the animals and with a truly immense appreciation for them. We were so lucky to have found you through Mike & Julie, and if I didn't say this enough before, I just want you to know that it really truly has been a pleasure and so much FUN working with you. We obviously could never, ever, ever, have planned this vacation without you and Michelle, not if we were given an entire year to do it (on our schedules)! Thank you again for a really amazing "experience."
Ahan & Rich
