Tanzania Northern Circuit Safari

This is one of the most popular routes in the Northern Circuit. You will visit Tarangire, Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks as well as Ngorongoro Crater (the largest caldera in the world and often called the 8th wonder of the world, the perfect ecosystem for prey and predator alike).
On your African Wildlife Safari, you'll overnight in small cozy lodges, permanent tents, and relax in true luxury at the larger lodges en route to the Serengeti and once in the Serengeti you'll camp on the plains for the most exciting and intimate of wildlife experiences. You'll also have the opportunity to visit a Maasai Village along the way.

Day 1- Arrive Kilimanjaro, overnight Arusha
You will arrive at Kilimanjaro or Nairobi International airport where you'll be met and transferred by our representative to a first-class hotel in Arusha. You'll overnight at Arumeru, Moivaro or similar lodge.
Day 2/3- Arusha to Tarangire National Park game drive and overnight Tarangire Sopa Lodge or Similar
After a welcome breakfast and briefing by your guide, we transfer to Tarangire National Park - the Jurassic Park of Africa - where we'll have a game drive in the afternoon, two the following day. Here you'll see the magnificent Baobab trees so famous in this part of the world and view hundreds of elephants, impala and who knows what else. Your African Wildlife Safari will overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge or similar.
Day 4- Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park - Mayara Serena Lodge or similar
Today we'll slowly game drive out of Tarangire and transfer to Lake Manyara enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. You'll see the jungle where the old Tarzan movies were filmed, enjoy the antics of the baboons, see birdlife you've never encountered before and wonder in awe at the great soda lake that is Manyara. If lucky, we'll also see the tree-climbing lion which are so famous in this park. Overnight at Lake Manyara Serena or similar.
Day 5/6- Manyara to Ngorongoro Crater - overnight Nogorongoro Sopa Lodge or similar
After breakfast we game drive our way through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the Crater. After lunch at our lodge, we take our first drive down 2,000 feet into the crater, enjoying an afternoon game drive. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar.
Ngorongoro Crater
We descend into the crater for the entire day, sharing our picnic lunch with the kites! The crater is home to the almost extinct black rhino and four prides of lion. We hope to see them all today, as well as flamingo, stork, hippos, cape buffalo, wildebeest, zebra and possibly a "retired" elephant or two. Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge or similar.Day 7/8/9/10 - Ngorongoro/ Olduvai Gorge/ Serengeti - medium camping
Today on your African Wildlife Safari we make our way from the crater to the magnificent Serengeti, stopping along our route to visit a Maasai Village and the Olduvai Gorge - birthplace of man. You'll be able to tour the Olduvai Museum and hear a lecture about the findings of the Leakey's. We arrive at the beautiful Serengeti in time for a late lunch at our lodge. The afternoon will be spent on a game drive, or if you prefer, relax around the swimming pool overlooking the Serengeti plain. Overnight at Sopa Wildlife Lodge or similar.
Serengeti National Park
Here we'll be able to have two game drives daily. One early morning returning to our lodge in time for lunch and relaxation before our late afternoon game drive. The Serengeti is large and there is much to see during our stay - from the hippo pools to the kopjes where the big cats often sleep, to tracking the always elusive leopard seen hanging out in trees. Due to changes in season, we may decide to split our overnights between two different lodges, spending two nights in each. Sopa or similar will be provided.
Day 11- Fly Serengeti back to Kilimanjaro and fly home or on to your next destination
