Our unique Cultural Encounters Itineraries include boutique-style accommodation in gorgeous guest houses and bed and breakfasts, and the focus here is on New Zealand culture, wine and history. Transport is either by self-drive in a hired vehicle, or we can arrange seat-in-coach or private transfers and day tours.
New Zealand's culture is a fusion of Maori culture and that of the descendants of the early British colonists and later settlers. While British culture predominates within the country, Maori culture is increasingly being identified with New Zealand. Experience the richness of Maori culture and folk lore, as we take you on a journey of powerful storytelling, spellbinding song and dance, and spiritual forests in our Cultural Trail itinerary.
The Classic New Zealand Wine Trail is a 240 mile route stretching from Hawke’s Bay on the east coast of North Island, passing through 5 of New Zealand’s most scenic, off-the-beaten-track. areas, culminating in Marlborough in the South Island, the country’s largest wine producing region. The trail can include as much or as little as you like, and as well as a chance to sample several of the local wines produced in each region, the Wine Trail provides the opportunity to visit local art galleries and home studios or explore museums and historical buildings along the way.
